SF (Live? Presents? Where The Hell Is?): New Hampshire
I'd like to gauge interest in a Song Fight live event in my area*. I guess it could be a SFLive ('10?), or a SF Presents like the one in Brooklyn this past January or something. I would be happy to make it happen up here if there were enough interested fighters.
*I live in New Hampshire, sort of near the middle of the state (Lakes Region). There's an airport in Manchester, about an hour south of here by car.

Wow. If this was planning for '10, that would be unprecedented. I, for one, would love to see it happen. It might even give me a chance to get back up to Dixville Notch.

What's your thoughts about timing, Jim?

It's wide open right now. There's Spokane '09 already on the table. So I figure if there's enough interest to warrant a SFLive event, than it'd be summer '10. If the interest is smaller and/or more local, then a SF Presents could be done, well, just about anytime. What's good for you?

ha, have you and paco been talking? i just emailed him yesterday saying he should start planning SF Live 2010: Live Free or Die!
i for one would DEFINITELY commit right now to coming to a SF Live in New Hampshire, especially if you can do it in the lakes region in the late summer.
that would be a BLAST!

I would love to do that - and M might come too, she lived in VT/NH for some years and loves the area. Her parents are in Burlington also.

I will drive up there pretty much whenever it happens; it's probably not much more than an hour. If it ends up being a small thing I can probably convince the band to come along and play too.

Uh.... Where?
(someone please slap my smart-ass mouth)
I'd probably come if it was the official annual event.
But ya'll know people are always holding Songfight type events that don't necessarily have to be the summer annual event and what not. So hold it when you want do0d.

Maybe we combine it with Rockbarn VT at my place, and do some VT vs NH fight...Cheddar vs Granite...jimtyrrell wrote:It's wide open right now. There's Spokane '09 already on the table. Re: SF (Live? Presents? Where The Hell Is?): New Hampshire
i said a couple years ago that i love the rock barn idea if roy is still up for it. or something in NH, if jim and paco want to set something up.
i think the 2 biggest factors (at least from my perspective) is a fairly close proximity airport and someone willing to step up and organize. i've got got faith and confidence in both roy and jim's abilty to organize. manchester is a major airport, not sure the closest to roy (burlington?).
but i'm hip to either or both!

I still love the Rock Barn idea, and am, of course, loving a Granite State rockathon as well. While these ideas are coming along early, they are something that might need an earlier start as far as lodging goes. Group cabin on the lake!
BZL - I think you might be pushing more of a 2 hour drive, but that's still realistic, isn't it?

Bringin' the stink since 2006.

Depends; at the moment I am living within a mile of the NH border, near Hudson and Nashua. That's an hour north of where I claim to be.

If I am around, I would almost definitely come to a SongFight Live in either of these states.

I'll be in in Boston 99% of the time for the next 2.5 years starting on Tuesday. So, yeah, if I can get from Boston to NH(train, I guess?) I would totally be up for this.
Songfighter since back in the day.

To fit the pattern it would have to be "Live Free and Die," which I think works even better.jack wrote:ha, have you and paco been talking? i just emailed him yesterday saying he should start planning SF Live 2010: Live Free or Die!

Bit early - but my wife just found a conference she wants to attend in Hartford, Conneticut in late April this year? That is heading up towards that neck of the woods I believe?

CR: Hartford is maybe four hours from here. Let me know when you're around!
Jack: I do like the idea of SFLive '10. It's a bit early for me to greenlight it, but I am starting to consider possible venues. I think a smaller, more humble SF Presents might happen this year as kind of a test run.

Re: SF (Live? Presents? Where The Hell Is?): New Hampshire
I have a biological mother who'd love for me to have an excuse to come to NH. Just make sure to do it in the warm weather. Once the temperature gets below a certain point, I'm incapable of traveling north.
