I have something to submit! I was worried I would have to drop out of this one but I managed to put something together. A couple of points to make about it:

1. Important (well for judges maybe) - I took the guest rapper thing to an extreme in that I basically took the vocal track from another song and reinstrumented it. Whether this is taking it too far I'll let the judges decide, I just thought it best that no-one thinks I've got professional rappers for friends (the song is 'Radio Friendly' by Abdominal, original music by Cut Chemist I think).

2. It's odd as hell. I honestly have no idea what people will think - rap meets twee electro or something.

Ladies and Gentleman, Tex Beaumont has left the building....

I stand before you in shame.

I am a disgrace to Nur Ein, I am a disgrace to Songfighting, I am a disgrace to myself. I have no entry this week. Zip. Not a sausage.

I had plans. Oh yes - I had great plans...well, I had plans.

Knowing fully well that it would be impossible for me to enter next week as I am heading Stateside sans stuff, I had planned on entering something so mindlessly pointless and irrelevant, which combined with some carefully planned judge abuse - would have me promptly ejaculated to a honourable exit (as I did last year with "The Blitz" - just before moving to NZ). I had even started work on a "song" - which basically featured a speech by Kevin Rudd, defending his backdown of an Emissions Trading Scheme, put to a drumbeat, and with me screaming abuse at him over the top. No really a "song" as such, more a form of personal therapy...but I digress - because it never happened anyway.

Because "The Bhuja Mix Incident" occurred. I like bhuja mix. It is a spicy, tasty, crunchy snack. And some bits of it are green, so it may even be slightly healthy. But on Thusday, as I was happily sitting at my desk eating bhuja mix, a particularly tough dried pea broke my tooth. I spent the next 2 or 3 days in excruciating pain and/or drunk.

Happily my tooth has now been fixed, so I can go to the USA without fearing the horrors of non-socialised healthcare. But songwise - I really just couldn't be arsed any more.

So, once again - thank you linesmen, thank you ball boys. Niveous and the team - another great job all round. Though I don't feel I reached any great heights myself this year, the Nur Ein continues to be the pinnacle of Sonfighting Excellence.

FWIW - from this point I am tipping Howl Down the Chimney for the win, Nouveax Pauvre as a dark horse sneaking up on the rails and Ross, Paco and FBF all there at the finish keeping the field honest.

Hey y'all. I thought I might try to do something this week as I liked the title (but not the challenge), but it looks like housework is going to keep me busy for the rest of the night. Therefore, I shall wear my immunity with pride and try to figure out how the hell I'm going to write/record something next week while simultaneously attending the SongFight New York thingy.

I'm in.

Sorry to see you go, Tex, but one more artist who is better than me out of here further increases my odds of making it to Round 4. Again with the mixed feelings.

NUR EIN!!!

Hey Tex - I'm sorry to see you go too! No mixed feelings here though, I had just hoped to get to Round Two and here I am in Round Three, and I've enjoyed your entries alot!

Mine will be sent before bed. It is without a doubt the strangest song I've ever written and recorded.

For those who thought my last song was too long, this one's under 2:00.

For those who are tired of my acoustic guitar playing, all the instruments are digital.

For those who have appreciated my sarcastic sense of humor, it's got that; but for those who need a bit of parody I'm crying at the end.

Hey, don't worry about the endoscopy - it was less stressful and painful for me, and the procedure's shorter so you remember less.
