Arturia is offering a new version of a bundle of their software effects plugins, "Arturia FX Collection 2". They're generally modelling classic effects hardware, and the collection contains mixing bus effects, modulation effects, compressors, delays, reverbs, preamps, and filters. I've been using their Rev Plate-140 plate reverb on everything for a while, and that's included. If you don't have something like this, and this deal puts it in your budget, you might consider it for helping to clean up some of the room noise in your vocals. It won't completely get rid of them but it will probably make an audible improvement.

I got one of those during a previous Stupid Deal. I highly recommend it. Made a huge difference when I was stuck recording in my tiny office room, and it also improves recording in my mostly-acoustically-dead basement somewhat.

It's also one of those things the MF SDotD seems to cycle in regularly.

I could, but I think the desk I'm building will be better for my needs anyway. The one on SDotD doesn't have any way for me to attach my ergonomic keyboard tray, for example.

If you somehow STILL don't have a large diaphragm condenser microphone, you really ought to get one. Your vocals will probably sound a lot better vs a dynamic mic (although those can be fine in some situations) and definitely better than if you're using the mic built in to your phone or laptop or headset etc. Here's a probably decent mic for $60, discounted from $200 just for today.

You'll need to make sure you've got an audio interface with phantom power (or a mic preamp/mixer/hardware recorder/etc. with phantom power). Nearly every interface will have that, if it has an XLR/mic input.
