Song Fight as ethical dilemma

I submitted a song yesterday, and then asked Spud to pull it (which I stil hope he does). Here's why.
The song is covertly political -- it would be overtly political if I provided more context in the lyrics -- and in it, I used a muscial tag from a very well-known TV show of some decades back. I didn't just quote it; I used a short clip recorded from the actual show. It seemed harmless enough at time, and quirkily amusing (or so I hoped).
During the mixdown, I sat for a long time in an unaccustomed chair in a revamped workspace, and I developed what I am self-diagnosing as bursitis. The song was still rough, but I submitted it anyway, and then proceeded to rest my leg, and to self-medicate for swelling.
Some time later, I made the mistake of listening to my submission. It was then I realized that the quoted clip might inappropriately give the impression of political endorsement by a third party. This seemed inconsiderate to the third party, if nothing else. Between that and the general roughness (pitchy vocals, sloppy arrangement), I thought it best to withdraw the submission.
There, that's off my chest. If the swelling abates in time, I'll turn the ending into a musical quote, omitting the direct recording, and submit it as a late entry. With luck, I'll be able to improve the more substantial flaws as well.
In connection with the bursitis, I'd just lke to add that getting old sucks.
