thanks! personally, i think muscle things is my best AAD-esque thing, but it's not appropriate to bring up that old thing here. why, that would just be a shameless plug!ujnhunter wrote:Just wanted to say I enjoyed Star Crunch... I need a haircut...

Gee, Tony, you missed the two-title period from 12.14.07 to 03.21.08. I thought for sure we would see you then.Tony Asbestos wrote:Hi

It's never too late to do an AAD. Though crapart has been lax about posting them, you can always post them here.

Re: Songfighter Album-a-day Thread
finally, my first AAD is scheduled: from noon 08/23 to noon 08/24. it sucks that the crapart guy is not posting them anymore, but i plan on sticking to all the rules listed on his website.
what is there after that? i will have done FAWM, SONG FIGHT!, 50/90, and AAD. maybe the dreaded collaboration with another person.
i plan to try to listen to some old posted AADs to see what the quality is like.
wish me luck.

Re: Songfighter Album-a-day Thread
Done. I recorded it solely on the Micro BR using it's microphone and my telecaster and ibanez bass. No acoustic guitar and no love songs. These are promises. Sounding like Guy from Fugazi in places, unintentional, but I like it.
I started at 3:40 p.m. 23-Aug collecting six "titles" apiece from the random quotes page, modplug, and Leon's random generators. Worked on and off until 4:30 a.m. finishing seven songs completely and another song minus vocals. Slept. Woke up around 7:00 a.m., finished another two songs and put vocals on the one from the night before. I got it mixed, mastered, converted to mp3, and posted to the internet with about 5 minutes to spare. The tracks are listed in the exact order that they were written.
My goal was 12. I got 10 with a lot of non-working time (cooking, sleeping, etc), so I am happy. This is the first time I have written and recorded so much in one day (and it's not live acoustic demos!!!).
I worked backwards on this from my usual way of writing. I wrote everything entirely instrumentally, then found a title that fit the mood and wrote the vocal melody around it. I only worked with four tracks and two were for vocals (drums do not count as a track on the Micro BR). That left only one bass and one guitar track for most songs. I think I made the most of it.

Re: Songfighter Album-a-day Thread
I was a little depressed last night, and after driving around in the dark, calling everyone in my contact list (nobody picked up), I was naturally pretty pissed off. So I went home and recorded an album. I'll post it later today.
ps - it's just G&G with some effects added, but it served its purpose - I'm feeling a lot better now.

Yeah, it seems that whenever I get bad feedback for a band name, I get all sensitive about it and ditch it asap. Good to know you like it.HeuristicsInc wrote:i saw it and thought "good name". can't listen to it now tho.

BAM!!!
Foot In Mouth Disease: Your Whole Life
YOUR WHOLE LIFE ALBUM DOWNLOAD
Track Listing:
1. Things Have Been Said (2:29)
2. Simply Put (1:17)
3. Who Are You? (2:19)
4. My Heart Is Heavy (3:47)
5. That Or This (1:30)
6. Thirteen Days (2:31)
7. Have You Figured It Out Yet? (2:28)
8. Do You Understand? (1:41)
9. The Basement (4:29)
10. Your Whole Life (3:52)
There's a webpage for it over HERE. I think "The Basement" is one of the most catchy songs I've ever written, and if you can get past the raw, G&G sound of the album, you might find a few other standouts here. It's definitely got a lighter atmosphere than the last album, but still has that Foot In Mouth Disease sound that you've all come to love. Enjoy!
