Re: Or else (Bend the Knee prefight)
Hey! Finally giving Songfight a go. Been doing FAWM for 7 years now I think, so I know a few names here (hey @vowlvom @owl, probably some others ).
Anyway, my name's Jed, I record as The Lowest Bitter, my stuff isn't restricted entirely to one style but I do tend to gravitate towards synth-pop as my comfort zone. In terms of lyrics I end up writing a lot (but by no means exclusively) about gay/queer themes, which I feel is worth mentioning as my response to the title "Bend The Knee" was to write maybe the most aggressively homosexual song I've ever written. I'll try to ensure my next entry is a bit more... chill.
Anyway, I'm not sure what the protocol is here for flagging NSFW stuff so I'll warn you now my song contains swearing. VV said swearing would be alright so blame him.
Looking forward to hearing what everyone does with this title!

HI JED!!! I'm excited to see you here, and can't wait to hear what you come up with-- I bet you're going to blow everyone out of the water (no offense, everyone [including me if I finish the thing I was noodling with in time to submit]).thelowestbitter wrote: โSat May 04, 2019 2:03 pmHey! In! I've submitted before the deadline for once, and made a lyrics thread:

I dislocated my patella rock climbing in 2010 and figured the experience might as well make itself useful for once...

I'd love to submit, but our singer is sick and I'm in the middle of opening a barbershop. The Glash will return ASAP

You should have no problem finding vocal talent once you have the barbershop up and running!

Sent yesterday, didn't get the "Got It" though. Also, as cheap as my entry may be, at least I didn't cross pollinate with my NUR EIN entry. Ahem...
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

Re: Or else (Bend the Knee prefight)
I'm out of town and I had to bring my work laptop so I could work remotely. I don't have the Fightmaster email set up there, so, I'm not checking that and confirming the receipt of the songs. I'll be back home tomorrow and will get caught up on that then.

Do you anticipate you'll be posting the fight tomorrow? I'm trying to work out a collaboration for a very very late entry, but I don't know if we'd have enough time...Lunkhead wrote: โThu May 09, 2019 10:55 amI'm out of town and I had to bring my work laptop so I could work remotely. Hey Lowest Bitter! I am familiar with you from FAWM. I am grateful to you for posting up those unfinished tracks a few years ago, I sang over one of them with one of my best vocals (that's not saying much). Looking forward to hearing more stuff.thelowestbitter wrote: โSat May 04, 2019 2:03 pmHey! Finally giving Songfight a go. Re: Or else (Bend the Knee prefight)
Just sent mine in, late as usual. I bend the knee in contrition and hope it is accepted.
My song has a female narrator, and I had hoped to collaborate with a female vocalist, but plans kept falling through so you're stuck with me instead. Some suspension of disbelief may be helpful.
