My entry (should I choose to accept it) will be in the form of a love ballad from an artichoke to an aphid.

Dang it, I misread the title! I was drunk last night when I saw this new title. I wrote an entire song about making love with a mollusc named Cirrina. All kinds of great innuendos regarding suction cups and how 8 arms are better than two. By the end of the song, there was ink everywhere.

Oh hell, this title is just too good. I just might have to be in for this fight. Timing should work out, too. Keep your fingers crossed, y'all.

I've got music I think. And it's not four hours before the deadline when I saw the title. I might do more than 2 SF entries this year.

I wrote a song.

It's from the heart.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Saw the title yesterday and the cosmos parted and gave me almost the entire song. Left work and recorded all of the bass, rhythm guitar, and drum tracks. It's entirely possible that I shall submit...something.

Just noticing this is the 4th "my heart" title in songfight history:

02/10/01 - 02/17/01
Repair My Heart

04/25/05 - 05/02/05
Don't Break My Heart Again, George Lucas

01/28/06 - 02/06/06
Crack In My Heart
Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff - Berkeley Social Scene - Tiny Robots - Seamus Collective - Semolina Pilchards - Cutie Pies - Explino! - Bravo Bros. - 2 from 14 - and more!

i would just like to remind everyone that Ken eats kittens - blue lang

Ken, I think you may be on to something there. For not being songlove.org, this place awfully has a lot of hearts in the titles!

I immediately recalled "History of My Broken Heart", "Half-Hearted Stab", and "You are the Heartbeat of this Office For Sure".
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

truly! it's nice to be back and to see your internet face again. i haven't poked around too much, but i imagine there might be a few others from my period of songfighting hanging around.

i don't know how often i'll be able to enter, but i've wanting to do more musical stuff lately (haven't in several years). and the one take nature of the al gore band is making that possible.

for those that aren't familiar, i've always had a few rules for the al gore band. 1) first takes only. 2) can't sing in my own voice. 3) no tuning of the instrument. (i cheated for this week's song since my guitar was ridiculously out of tune from not having used it for so long.) 4) no electronic instruments. 5) percussion must be provided by found objects.

i also usually use a sample of some kind.

i don't know why i felt like explaining all of that. 8-)
