It may be funny, but what's really funny is that lack of a life notwithstanding, I still feel more life-endowed than you gamerdorks...Sober wrote:That's really funny coming from you.Märk wrote:God. Damn. Get a life, ppl.

That's unfortunate. It's an amazing game. The Weakest Suit wrote:i have the old chrono trigger for super nintendo. i only played it about half way through and it's been collecting dust since.
... says the worthless piece of shit that has nothing better to do than lurk the Video Games section of the forums and troll. Get the fuck off your high horse and go stroke yourself somewhere else, preferably altogether away from songfight, talentless cocksucker.Märk wrote:It may be funny, but what's really funny is that lack of a life notwithstanding, I still feel more life-endowed than you gamerdorks...

Long Live Yasunori Mitsuda!
Actually, this is awesome! I just went through it recently myself. Been downloading all of the Trigger songs off of OCRemix.org

Re: CHRONO TRIGGER DS
Whether you think it's funny or not, Märk, the fact is that saying the same "joke" over and over eventually gets pretty old.
I only ever got halfway through Chrono Trigger, myself. It was a fun game but RPGs tend to get pretty stale for me, especially at the point of the obligatory huge-ramp-up-in-difficulty. I really hate grinding for XP.

Re: CHRONO TRIGGER DS
That's odd, I never had to grind in CT.
And yeah, the music is unbelievable. I prefer all Mitsuda's tracks to the 10 Uematsu contributed, too.

Re: CHRONO TRIGGER DS
I tend to try to plow through RPGs as fast as possible and at some point it suddenly got too difficult for my characters. I think it was when I went to the prehistoric era or something. It's been a while since I played it though.

Re: CHRONO TRIGGER DS
We know there is a bonus dungeon.
Completely fabricated, unsubstantiated idea:
Finally a way for Magus to save Schala?
I know that kinda fucks up the Chrono Cross story, but ... well, fuck Chrono Cross. The only thing I can remember bothering me about the brilliant CT is that Schala's storyline was never resolved.
Debate or other ideas welcome. With only one new addition to this straight port, I'm very curious as to what it could be.

Re: CHRONO TRIGGER DS
So it's out, and I have it, and I hope I'm not alone.
++++++++++ It's the best game ever made. (And it came out in 1995?! How has no game come close to it since?)
+++++++ The HP/MP meters are permanently on the bottom screen (along with a pretty useful map), and during battles, all menus are on the bottom screen only, so all the action and art is uncluttered.
+++++ They added the cutscenes from the PSX version, but there are no PSX loading times.
- They added this bizarre monster raising side-quest mini-game... thing. I don't know, I'm not big on monster raising. Maybe you are. I'm pretty indifferent about this, as it's completely unobtrusive. If you played Breath of Fire 3, it's very much like the faeries.
----- They removed Frog's medieval dialect.
I just barely got to the first (of three, I think?) added dungeon, so I can't comment on the quality of those, nor of the one new ending. But really, it's the best game ever made, period, and now it's handheld. Get it.
