Who would you want to see come back?
I was reminiscing about "the old days" of Song Fight, which is a relative thing of course. For me that's 2003-2004. I looked up somebody who used to fight back then who hasn't been around in a long time, Brother Machine, to see what he's up to nowadays. I thought it would be interesting to ask people: What fighter who hasn't participated in long time would you like to see come back to Song Fight?
I think it would be cool if Brother Machine came back. Another old favorite for me (and also another Austin-ite) is 15-16puzzle.

Teplin a.k.a. Howl Down The Chimney. One of my favorite collabs was with Teplin, but it looks like he stopped Song Fight!ing around the same time I did. I'm back this week though!

Brother Machine was great. He entered fights multiple times, but all the entries were good. Seth was another of his names.

MC-3p0, who entered as Swedish Masturbation Unit
I'd also like to see Amsmsmsptk enter a second time (I think that's how you spell his name, I can't be bothered to look it up)
Oh and Metalmags. And Gill Sans. And heck, Narbotic too.

Re: Who would you want to see come back?
I've learned to dislike this type of question because for every band I mention there are a hundred other bands who could feel slighted because I didn't mention them (out of forgetfulness or whatever). Of course any band that hasn't participated in a Song Fight for most of a decade is not likely to read this anyway, and even less likely to worry over my list, so here goes...
None of these bands have entered a Song Fight for over 8 years, they all still get a lot of play on my iTunes playlists, and I would love to hear new stuff from them:
15-16 Puzzle
Carol Cleveland Sings
The Cow Exchange/The Bovine Recyclery/Inflatable Shoe Tax
Forty Second Songs/Novox the Robot
Jordan Seavers
Michael Gum
Milwaukee Youth Center Choir
[Yes I chose 8 years as the cutoff just so that I could include 15-16 Puzzle on this list. I was tempted to pick 4 years just so that I could include Jim of Seattle on the list, but then I'd need to add Josh Woodward and Melvin and TV's Kyle and a zillion other bands...]

Re: Who would you want to see come back?
If you want a Forty Second Songs fix, follow songadaymann on YouTube et al. He’s got you covered. :)
Also half of MYCC still release music as MC Frontalot.
I forget, was Cow Exchange just Plat or was that the Plat+Puce joint effort? Because Puce is still around, sorta.

Re: Who would you want to see come back?
I believe Cow Exchange was just Plat, and the Plat/Puce combo was called Mostly Harmless.
And I still think Cow Exchange's "Get a Stupid Answer" album is the single greatest thing Songfight has ever produced.

Re: Who would you want to see come back?
Jordan Seavers! That would be great. At least Carol Cleveland Sings has put out some new non-Song Fight music in recent years, what with The Spinto Band being on very long hiatus.
