Jerks: Fucking rad. Times a billion.
Paco: Someday we'll all sing this to you at the bar. I'll put the lyrics in Ye Olde.

Thanks, Ken. The truth hurts Though, for the record, I've never put cat-noises on a song and harmonicas are evil. Rest, spot on.

J$ -Thanks for being a good sport. I wanted to write a theme-song reminiscent of something you'd do. I played this for my gf and then played her a couple of the songs we collaborated on and she thought it was pretty spot on as well.j$ wrote:Thanks, Ken. Schlimminy Cricket - Thank you for your song. I think you did a fine tribute to my quirky band name. I look forward to listening to it a lot.

Re: Themesong Fight 2017
j$ - Oh man, I love all the rhymes on this song, the 'future song historians' line is probably my favorite. Great song, about a great band, I'll probably listening to this all day, as my transformation into a complete narcissist concludes. Technically we sometimes do Ska, as opposed to reggae, as any song with a tempo below 130 would likely trigger Mr. Jerkatorium's medical condition. Of course, I understand how syllabic considerations can get in the way of pedantic distinctions.
jerkatorium - You're fuckin' in for it now! Probably the shoutiest song we've ever done. We want to be Jeff Rosenstock when we grow up.
jbb - Oh great good goddamn, this is a fun folky ballad. So many great lines. Handsome as an elf, heh. I like the bird sounds at the end, love me some bedroom recordings.
sockpuppet - My favorite song of the fight. It has an infectious fun happy groove that just makes me happy, and the lyrics are all funny. I woke up this morning humming 'from tree they rescue kitty', the bridge is super rad too, 'or maybe they are sexual for me' cracks me up like EVERY TIME. TELL ME SOMETHING. ...but what I do know is that THEY ARE OK. You nailed it here Fluffy, congrats!
Schlimminy Cricket - A close second place behind Fluffy for me. Ken will open the door to consciousness and carelessness. I love the way the BVs softly sing 'KEN' on the bridge. And that line about the bagel and ballpoint pens I thought was delightfully random, until the BVs remind me "because it's stuff get it". OMG, OMG, OMG, I love snarky BVs. Seriously good work.
Ken - Heh, way to do a song in Mr. Cashpoint's style, with his brand of sardonic humor.

Re: Themesong Fight 2017
I wrote the lyrics. Al's been in a holding pattern on the music - first 2 car accidents (Thankfully no one hurt, but cars were totaled) and then work related issues. So it's in the hopper, but hasn't hit the front burner at the moment.
I'm hoping it'll be complete before we start on SpinTunes 13 in July. Thanks everyone for being patient with our tardyness.

I hope everyone is doing well! Paco and Boffo Yux, have any of you had a chance to finish your theme songs?

Re: Themesong Fight 2017
Jerkatorium shares the blame for Boffo Yux being late - we knew BYD had encountered some unexpected issues, so we offered to compose a song using the lyrics Tommy had already written. We took a few unsuccessful stabs at it and then put it on the back burner. That was six months ago. We'll try again.fluffy wrote:I hope everyone is doing well! Re: Themesong Fight 2017
I finally did this, waaay past the deadline, obviously. But I did it! I sent copies to Fluffy and Chumpy, will post lyrics. Sorry, Fluffy.
JB: That song is great, if I didn't tell you. Right on, man.
