thanks. lyrics have always been my shortcoming. i took this week's fight a little more seriously, lyrically. doesnt mean they're any good, just a little more serious.ken wrote: Ned Plimpton Orchestra - Well played, recorded and a great arrangement. Lyrics just aren't my cup of tea.

Seriously, who's posting as Blue? Stop, it's not funny.blue wrote:nah, i've always like his voice and style. just the subject matter is usually suspect. he is one of the top two or three singers for confidence and panache, and he can really sell a song.
don't worry, i still hated the song.
Punk rock is for children. Grab a six-pack at Half-a-Dozen Records.
Chin Music sez:
Sorry this is late, and being mostly unqualified to comment, I offer the following comments:
Johnny C’s Evil Twin: Wins the spooky kids in the haunted hall prize.
MCMilk+: OK! Outrageously sharp, entertaining mostly, filled with no mistakes.
Dollar Bill & the Inkpots: Translated from the German? Less clever changes, but well disguised by sonic variation.
DJ Bic Dick, etc.: A personal prejudice, I don’t like being sonically inside someone’s mouth as they make noises. A lot of good work on this cut, however.
King Arthur: This would actually make a good Dead song, would fit right in, everybody would still be twirlin’ without stop.
Luke Henley: Often what makes a hit is a unique, never-heard-before sound. This one hits the naïf spot. Now I’d like to hear the song performed by, oh, a pro outfit, to get a better idea of what the song sounds like. I like this.
Gangsta From the Hood: Golly. People going on about how astonishingly tough they are isn’t hugely entertaining to me, but there must be lots of fans for this. Well executed, anyway.
Sockpuppet: Sonically interesting/enveloping. In AAAAAAAAAAAAA rhyme. I liked it.
Le Chic Sonique: Among nations, the French are the feline, yah? Very nice, rather too short.
ChinMusic: Really really the most wonderful, ah, mélange. A gumbo. A mess, I guess. The only part of the lyrics we wrote was the part about “there’s no such thing as a bad cat – he just doesn’t careâ€

Re: Chin Music sez:
i appreciate the kind words. tabriz refers to a type of persian rug. one of the pricey persuasion, as the lyrics imply.JAK wrote:Ned Plimpton Orchestra: Zappaesque, but I bet you know that. Tebreeze is like a couch or something, huh. Songfight has the most talented instrumentalists, it’s just astonishing.

Chin Music - Cool. I wish the groove was a bit tighter with the guitar playing. And then a bit louder. Loads of character thats well done. Keeper.
DJ Bick Dick - Some cool stuff in here. Wish the vocals were less carpet sounding. I think I dig it. Keeper.
Dollar Billand The Inkpoints - I love backing groove and BoC type keyboards. I'm hoping for a nifty left turn. There are parts I really dig, and couple I don't as much. Keeper.
Gangsta From The Hood - I like the sound of the drum groove. Backing tracks are great, but I'd love for them to develop more.
Gert- Damn fun to work with you guys.
J$'$ Evil Twin - Not as much.
Johnathan Mann- I find the drums a bit too present for the rest of the tracks. But this is awesome fun. Very cool. Keeper. Love the ending.
Ken's Super Duper Band n' Stuff - Nice acoustic guitar sound. Now this is how GnG should sound. Great job at keeping the tempo solid. Keeper.
King Arthur - Awesome! Right on. Great mix. Great job with the lyrics and delivery. Tight man. Keeper.
Klownhole - This rocks. Nice to hear this on SF! Fuckin' keeper.
Le Chic Sonique- HOly crap, that was fantastic! Keeper.
Lukely Henley- Compelling man. There's a charm about this tune. Good song. Keeper.
Max The Cat - This is fantastic, delivers as expected. Right on. Great mix and great performances! Keeper.
MC Milk Plus - Damn, this is great. Love the chorus. Keeper.
Melvin - I'd love to hear this with real drums. Awesome. Great vocal work. Keeper.
Ned Plimpton Orchestra - This tune just needs one more part. Fun.
Sockpuppet - The soundfx at :35ish is awesome. Worth the price of admission. I dig the music, and the character of the vocals, but the rhyming thing gets long. Keeper.
This was one of the best fights I've heard in awhile. Way to represent, ya'll.
