Hi from Cameron Michael

Post by bz£ »

So, if you're like me, then your name is Ben, and people have been calling you "Uncle Ben" for decades because, hey, people like rice. I mean, check out that recipe thread we have going. I'm too intoxicated to link it up right now but it's all advice about how to make fish tacos and that you should buy a good knife and such. No rice recipes, because we're all hoarding our best rice dishes! Damn are we a bunch of selfish bastards.

But I digress. After almost thirty-two years, the "Uncle" is finally accurate. Here's a picture of my new nephew at age ten. Hours. Pretty awesome! He looks just like his dad, only smaller and redder.

Reminds me of a Newfie joke I heard years ago.

This Newfie guy, let's call him Donny, him and his brother make a pact that they will name the other's firstborn child. It turns out his brother, Danny, is the first to make children, in fact, Danny's wife gives birth to twins, a boy and girl. Danny asks Donny "Well, brother, what'll it be then, bie? Ya gotta names me kids fer me."

After careful consideration, Donny replies "The girl? Her name be Denise"

Danny says "That's a beaut name, fer sure. Good choice! And what abouts the boy?"

"Simple." Donny replies. "Denephew"

Congratulations! As someone named "Sam" I can empathize with having been called "uncle" for a long time, even when it wasn't true. It's fun when it's true, though.

Uncley Advice: Whenver he cries, remind him that it's only gonna get worse and thats it all down hill from here.

It won't help but it's certainly true.
