Vote! Do it! Because I feel like speaking interjectively! Do it soon, because not even the Secret Santa Hxaro Pollster knows when this will end!

Basically we'll pick something whenever it's convenient, giving quite a bit of weight to whatever the poll results look like. Options are all pretty ambiguous, so just vote for the one that makes you least uncomfortable.

Damn it people! Make your voices heard! Soonly! Especially that one jackass who picked "I'll write in something better" and then didn't write in anything better. You know who you are.

I personally liked Songfight! Boston: A Declaration of Independents. That's my favorite.

<cough> well speaking up for my adopted home town (cheesesteak anyone?) I think another east coast city may have dibs on that particular allusion. Second Congressional Congress of 1776 anyone?

Hence why "More than a Feeling" is so totally the right choice.

When I’m tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day
And dream of a girl I used to know
I closed my eyes and she slipped away
She slipped away. She slipped away.

...unless of course you want to go with: -

Songfight! Boston: "That's 'Chow-dah!' 'CHOW-DAH!'"
"You know, I rather like this God fellow. Very theatrical, you know. Pestilence here, a plague there. Omnipotence ... gotta get me some of that."

as I'd be sad for a moment that the original BLANK & BLANK format would be of the past...I too really like this suggestion.

It's really fitting.

Yay, see what happens when you insult people? It gets results! Actually, now that I know who I was calling a jackass, I feel bad about it, because he's not a jackass at all.

Also, props to the UK native among us for being the only one to realize that, while many important political events took place in Massachusetts in the 1770s, and while several Boston natives had significant input into the drafting of various historical documents in that decade, Boston still has no real claim on the Declaration of Independence.

It's still a cool title though!

We should use it then, just because it's kinda innaccurate. Although I'm sure Boston had it's fair share of independents back in the day. And hey, it's where college kids go, and they're all independent and such.

*shrug* I like the title.
Songfighter since back in the day.

yay! the jackass came up with a tagline that people like!

and i've yet to see concrete proof that philly is the home of independent music. kind of like huntington beach calling itself "surf city"....

Well if we are going for political allusions how about

Songfight! Boston: Hosting Tea parties since 1773
OR
Songfight! Boston: Tchai anyone?
OR
Songfight! Boston: "Make mine a Sam Adams Triple Bock"
"You know, I rather like this God fellow. Very theatrical, you know. Pestilence here, a plague there. Omnipotence ... gotta get me some of that."

SongFight! Bricks and Beats
Agreed. We gotta be consistent. But the past ones are common phrases, and "Bricks and Beats" isn't. At least that I know of. Here's a brainstorm. I'm making the designs now, so we need to decide on this pronto:

Songfight! Boston: Brick and Mortar
Songfight! Boston: Free and Clear
Songfight! Boston: Declarations and Independents (but really, it belongs in Songfight! Philly)
Songfight! Boston: Shake and Bake
Songfight! Boston: Law and Order
Songfight! Boston: Liberty and Justice
Songfight! Boston: Schools and Fools
Songfight! Boston: Too Cool for School
Songfight! Boston: this sucks

I dunno, I'm leaning towards Sox and Rox

?

ah man, you gotta love this place. as soon as anything begins to build any sort of consensus here, someone will surely throw a wrench into it and prove once again that if there is one thing that you can count on, it's that people will never agree on anything. :)

i think it's time for an executive decision to be made.

Hey, I already made that executive decision by passive-aggresively dumping the final decision on c-hack. I guess it's too bad that "Songfight Boston: The Weekend of Our Discontent" doesn't follow the correct historical format.

Fox in Socks is cool with me, or Rox and Sox and Bagels and Lox and whatever non-naughty things that rhyme with those words.
