who wants to play when???

Post by king_arthur »

Umm, if nobody else has dibs, I would like to play first st SFL, so that my rewritten WTF can open the whole show:

Here at Songfight High and Dry
You better put on your Blue Lang shoes
'Cause we're on K-C-U-F
Radio Santa Cruz...

I plan to pull together a band for my set - drums, bass, lead guitar, keys, and me on guitar and vocals.

If Friday is going to be an all-acoustic show, then I'll ask for opening slot on Saturday, but, as I suggested elsewhere, alternating bands and solo / duo acts may help keep the show moving.

In any case, I generally fall asleep by about 9 pm, so I'll need to go on fairly early one night or the other :-)

Anybody else have preferences?

Thanks

I'd prefer not to go first this time. Months later I got kinda bummed that my set didn't get recorded, so, I'd like to avoid that fate again this time.

The Primitive Screwheads will take any slot that's available, though we're electrified and pro'lly wouldn't mesh too well with the all-acoustic night that's been implied somewhere around here. We be easy, yo.

If I can recruit a backing band - I'll happily crank the pace and volume up somewhere in the 2nd half of the Friday night show.

Rabid -

I mentioned an all-acoustic night because I think that's been done before at other SFLs. I don't believe it has been put forward as a real suggestion for this time by anybody; I just brought it up so I could claim opening slot Saturday if Friday was gonna be all-acoustic.

It only happened once so far, in Boston, as a nice way to handle the fact there were too many bands for two nights at the main venue.

No issues for fitting me in. Fri or Sat you decideeeee!

I will be looking for Caravan Ray and bjam to help me with two songs in my set. Also subject to rehearsal time, I will call on Glenn to do some harmonies for me.

I think I'd rather play Saturday in order to make it easier for my sister and brother-in-law to attend.

On the other hand, I might rather play Friday in order to make it less easy for my sister and brother-in-law to attend.

(They live in San Francisco.)

Allow me to cross post. I'll only be available Saturday night.

I do not believe that there will be a 'Hoblit' set. However, I MAY be in Dre's band and I might try to get 'my sister' in just for a laugh. I doubt all of the newest members have heard it..and it'll be fun (although I feel it's gotten old).

If nobody has done so already, I’ll volunteer for the opening act on Saturday night. Can’t do it on Friday as am counting on hoblit, plus I would like to get it out of the way so I can enjoy the rest of the show, and see other people make fools of themselves.
