SongFight! Tour 2008: Los Angeles (sort of), March 28th

Post by Lunkhead »

Friday, March 28
Spot Café & Lounge
http://www.thespotcafelounge.com/
(used to be Synergy Café; same site as last year)
4455 Overland Ave.
Culver City, CA 90230

So, who's going to attend this one? Erin and I are planning to go, so we'd like to do some kind of Merisan/Lunkhead/Tiny Robots/Loyalty Day medley set.

EDIT: Added show info.

Is there a location? A date? A time? I want a centralized posting somewhere of the schedule, venues, and participating bands. Although I hate to do it, I will start a thread JUST for this information. People can post their intentions there, and I will update the first post in the thread to keep it up to date.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it. I was hoping to catch one of the March dates, but now that isn't looking too good either. My mind will be preoccupied wishing I was there instead of what I will be doing.
Someone play a BLT tune for me. :P

Hey Spud,

This info has been around for a little while at least here and on the myspace page:

Friday, March 28, at the Spot Café & Lounge Culver City, CA (used to be Synergy Café; same site as last year).

You should also expect the Seamus Collective, Ross Durand, Evil-E, and prayformojo there.

Ken
Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff - Berkeley Social Scene - Tiny Robots - Seamus Collective - Semolina Pilchards - Cutie Pies - Explino! - Bravo Bros. - 2 from 14 - and more!

Sorry, Ken. I couldn't find it at the time. Hence my frustration and the new consolidation thread.

What about you? What shows are you playing?

I suspect just LA and SF. I just don't have the vacation time and savings I had last year. :(

Sorry, I was in a hurry when I started this thread and hadn't had a chance to find the LA show details to copy and paste in.

Roster from other thread:
Ken
Merisan/Lunkhead/Tiny Robots/Loyalty Day
Seamus Collective
Ross Durand
Evil-E
prayformojo
So no Minty Handy? No State Shirt? Not that the roster isn't nice already. I'm just asking because I can't find a definite yes/no from MH, and I haven't sen anything at all from SS. And does "Seamus Collective" mean the whole collective, including Michelle?

All good questions.

I believe Minty Handy is in. I will invite Michelle. State Shirt is always MIA, but feel free to try and get in contact with him.

I told Bob about the LA show (he played slide guitar and bass with me a couple of times at shows) and he says he might show up to listen, so look for him...

I'm in! I'm in! I'll be flying back from a week in New York that day, but I'll drag out the uke and do a short set. No duets or backup, though, so best to put me first, last, or between the two loudest sets. Or have me do a small handful of songs while someone is doing elaborate setup.

Sorry for the lack of feedback, work and a cold are killing me, and I've already pinged Ken that my attending the San Fran show is not looking good -- although I reserve the right to show up as a surprise guest (and probably play on the street.)

I can't really speak for her, but I suspect that Erin would be interested in singin "Our Love Violates Corporate Policy" with you again. If you're interested let me know, or PM/e-mail her.

I'd be thrilled if she'd step up for that song! Absolutely, if she's willing, that would be great.

Erin said she'd be game for "OLVCP", in case I hadn't mentioned that elsewhere yet.

It will be good to see you. I'm not sure who all will be there, but there is always room for State Shirt. Let me know if you want to play.

Do these things get recorded for those of us that aren't on the west coast?
