That's what he said, when I asked if he had an attenuator for it (he doesn't), shouldn't be a problem.

Re: SF! Live 2015 PDX: Gear Inventory
Thanks for doing the heavy lifting (LITERALLY!) on gear procurement, Rabid! Those Showcase guys have yet to get back to me on bass amps. I need to call those dudes!

As I understand it, we still need a bass though?

I can bring my bass up. I'm not getting in until Thursday night, though, so it won't be available for Thursday afternoon rehearsal.

Still need a bass, AFAIK.
Hooray for the bass amp ! (Is there a cabinet, too?)

Re: SF! Live 2015 PDX: Gear Inventory
Inevitable, if it's easy to lug, I'd say go ahead and bring it, and thanks!
Rabid, I believe the amp is some variety of combo affair, as outline in Lunkhead's specs.

That's not one of the combo amps I mentioned:anti-m wrote:Inevitable, if it's easy to lug, I'd say go ahead and bring it, and thanks!

When I Google image search "ampeg pf 500" I see only heads, with separate cabinets. Can you please verify with the rental place that it's a combo or that we're getting a cabinet too? Thanks!Lunkhead wrote:Any single speaker combo amp would be good for the bass, such as the Ampeg BA115 Combo, Ampeg Rocket Bass combo, or the SWR Workingman 12. A 15" speaker (like in the Ampegs) is slightly preferable over a 12" speaker (like in the SWR) but if there are budgetary considerations then the 12 would probably be fine.

Re: SF! Live 2015 PDX: Gear Inventory
Also it might be helpful to get a quote on renting a smaller combo guitar amp too. If we don't all make an effort to keep the volume down with the Marshall it might make mixing things and keeping the vocals audible a real challenge. I'm happy to contribute to rental costs, if somebody wants me to PayPal them some assistance, if it will keep from having my ears blasted off.

Re: SF! Live 2015 PDX: Gear Inventory
Hey there, pretty sure it's the whole deal -- I basically pasted your specs into my request for quote. Here's what it says on the invoice:
1 AMPEG PF-500 115 BAS CMBO CASE/AC/SPK-CBL
I'm happy to put you in touch with the rental co, if you want to hammer out specifics, though!
We can also still request the guitar amp -- I'm assuming I should go ahead and do so?
Here's what he has on the invoice:
1 FENDER DELUXE REVERB CASE/FSWCH
80 bucks if we want.
Lemme know!

Re: SF! Live 2015 PDX: Gear Inventory
Cool, that invoice line does seem like it's for the head and the cabinet, the power cord for the head, and the speaker cable to connect the head to the cabinet. That's everything we'd need, thanks a lot for setting that up. I appreciate the effort you're putting into this and I hope my feedback isn't coming across as critical.
Re: the guitar amp, yeah, if it's not a big hassle to also rent that amp and bring that I think that would be a way better fit and make setup/mixing/teardown a lot easier. That's the same amp I have at the BSS practice space and it's got the right amount of power/loudness for a small band setup in a small/medium venue and it sounds great.
Yay! Three cheers for anti-m and Rabid!

OK, cool, I'll let them know that the guitar amp is back on! Shouldn't be a problem.

Re: SF! Live 2015 PDX: Gear Inventory
Oh, one more thing! The gear from Showcase (amp and amp) are not slated to be picked up until Friday AM. I hope this is sufficient for all? Do I need to reserve for Thursday as well?

Re: SF! Live 2015 PDX: Gear Inventory
Good enough for BSS and our various incarnations. I think we were hoping to practice for 30-45 minute Saturday and that's all.

So we're scratching the Marshall off the backline?

I think so... Unless we want to do some sort of Fury Road reenactment on the front of a tall bike as part of the entertainments.

Yeah, that seemed like a logistical problem on a number of levels. Cool to have in the back pocket, though! For, you know, mayhem.

Re: SF! Live 2015 PDX: Gear Inventory
I assume there are plenty of mics and leads and such? Don't need me to pack anything?
I do have a rather crappy music stand I can throw in a suitcase.
